Cumbria Safeguarding Adults Board works in partnership with organisations across Cumbria to help protect adults with care and support needs from abuse or neglect.
The Board leads adult safeguarding across Cumbria and works with organisations to ensure that they have effective safeguarding policies and procedures in place. It is important to work together in the best way possible to protect adults with care and support needs.
The Cumbria Safeguarding Adults Board members guide and handbook provides an introduction to the Board, its responsibilities, and the expectations of individual Board Members:

The Board aims to make sure adults who may be at risk of abuse or neglect, and their carers, are enabled to:
Live as safely and independently as possible
Make their own decisions
Take control of their own lives.
The three core duties of the Board are to:
Publish an annual strategic plan
Publish an annual report
Review serious safeguarding cases. These are called Safeguarding Adult Reviews (SARs).
